Kaviya Maran loses her cool at the IPL camera crew

Kaviya Maran, the daughter of Sun Network founder and chairman Kalanithi Maran, has been a regular feature at Sunrisers Hyderabad’s (SRH) games in the Indian Premier League (IPL).

However, during the team’s encounter against Punjab Kings on April 9, 2023, Kaviya was visibly irritated with the constant focus of the camera on her.

She mouthed “Hatt yaar” to the cameraman during the match, expressing her displeasure. This incident happened in the 19th over of the game when Punjab Kings were batting, and the cameras panned to her while Shikhar Dhawan was batting on 90.

Despite the unpleasant moment, Kaviya was pleased with SRH’s performance in the match. The team registered their first win of the season by defeating Punjab Kings by eight wickets.

The team first restricted their opponents to 143 runs and then chased the target down in the 18th over itself. Kaviya, who is an ardent follower of the team’s progress, watched the game from the grandstand and was delighted with the team’s victory.

In the 2023 edition of the IPL, Kaviya has been a camera favourite, with her reactions to the team’s performance becoming popular on social media. However, on this occasion, the cameras seemed to have irked her, and she voiced her annoyance. Despite the incident, Kaviya’s support for the team remains unwavering, and she will continue to cheer them on in their upcoming games.

Tripathi and Markram’s partnership ensures SRH’s comfortable win

Meanwhile, SRH’s victory against Punjab Kings was a much-needed boost for the team, which had suffered losses in their first two games. Rahul Tripathi’s unbeaten 74 off 48 balls and skipper Aiden Markram’s 37 off 21 balls were instrumental in the team’s successful chase. Mayank Markande also had an excellent outing, picking up four wickets for the team. With this win, SRH will look to build on their momentum and strive for more victories in the upcoming matches.
