Jurgen Klopp wants a replay of Tottenham vs Liverpool game after Luis Diaz’s goal was wrongly disallowed by VAR. The Reds were unable to beat Spurs at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium after they were reduced to nine men.

Luis Diaz’s goal in the 34th minute was wrongly ruled offside and created a controversy after the match. Furthermore, (Professional Game Match Officials Limited) PGMOL apologized for a ‘significant human error’ which saw the goal wrongly chalked off for offside.

In 1999, an FA Cup third-round tie was replayed after Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger offered Sheffield United to play the game again after a controversial winning goal in the first game.

The officials involved in Tottenham vs Liverpool have not been selected for this weekend’s Premier League games. However, the on-field referee Simon Hooper, will be in the VAR room for Everton vs Bournemouth game on Saturday.

Speaking to the media ahead of Liverpool’s Europa League game against Union Saint-Gilloise, Klopp addressed the issue again.

The Reds manager said: “Yes, it was a mistake. An obvious mistake. I think there would have been solutions. I think the outcome should be a replay. Probably won’t happen.

“As far as I can remember, something like that never happened, that’s why I think a replay should be played.

“The audio didn’t change it at all because I was not really interested in why things happen,” he said.

“I saw the outcome, I saw a goal, and I saw it didn’t count. It’s really important that we deal with it in a proper way. They didn’t do it on purpose and we shouldn’t forget that.”
