Jesse Marsch sacked as coach of Leeds United, know details

It is now officially announced by Leeds United that they have sacked their managed Jesse Marsch today from the club. A club statement confirmed that the American coach has been relieved of his duties after just 11 months from his hiring. The 49-year-old was hired back in February of last year as a replacement for the Argentine Marcelo Bielsa.

Under Jesse, last season Leeds avoided relegation to the Championship on the very final day of the campaign, but this season it still wasn’t going the way March would have hoped.

This is because the team are on a winless run of seven games with the latest being a 0-1 defeat away at Nottingham Forest and that result has made them come down to the 17th position in the table with only 18 points. They are ahead of the relegation zone simply because of the goal difference and the game that they have in hand.

The club statement said, “Leeds United can confirm head coach Jesse Marsch has been relieved of his duties. We would like to thank Jesse and his backroom staff for their efforts and wish them well for the future. The process of appointing a new head coach is underway and we will continue to keep supporters up to date throughout the coming days.”

The club haven’t named any interim manager yet and now they’ll come up against one of the most in-form teams in Europe. This is because they have a PL doubleheader against the giants’ Manchester United first at Old Trafford and then at their home stadium at the weekend. All in all, it would be interesting to see how the PL side resolves their situation so that they don’t get relegated
