Jaiswal attains career-best 63rd rank after a solid show against West Indies in tests

Among the other Indian batter, Rohit Sharma is at number nine in the latest ICC Test Rankings

ICC released the latest ICC test rankings after the conclusion of the India- West Indies test series. Young opener Yashaswi Jaiswal has attained a career-best 63rd rank after a solid show in the test series. His partner and the Indian captain Rohit Sharma have also climbed to number nine in the latest test rankings Rohit holds the ninth position jointly with Sri Lankan captain Dimuth Karunaratne who has been in good form off late and has scored runs consistently in the longest format of the game. Among other Indian batters, Rishabh Pant slipped to the 12th spot having not played test matches this year due to an injury. His teammate and former Indian captain Virat Kohli is in 14th position in the test rankings.

Batting Rankings

Talking about other batters, Marnus Labuschagne rose three spots claiming second position after a century in the fourth match at Old Trafford. His counterpart Joe Root also gained in the latest test rankings and moved three spots up to number three. The other English batter to improve his position was England’s opener Zak Crawly who moved to 35th position after scoring 189 runs in the first innings of the fourth test at Old Trafford. While Harry Brook also moved up to the 11th position in the latest ICC Test Rankings. Pakistan’s Saud Shakeel following his maiden double ton has moved up to 15th position in the rankings he witnessed a jump of 12 spots in his test ranking.

Bowling Rankings

Among Indian bowlers, Mohmmad Siraj climbed up to the 33rd spot in the rankings following his impressive performance in the second test against West Indies where the pacer picked up five wickets in the second innings. Sri Lankan spinner Prabhat Jayasurya also moved up in test rankings courtesy of his 7-wicket haul in the Galle test against Pakistan. The performance has helped him achieve a career-best seventh position in the test rankings. His teammate and fellow spinner Ramesh Mendis also climbed one spot to reach to 21st position. Young Pakistani leg spinner Abrar Ahmed attained 45th while West Indies left-arm spinner Jomel Warrican attained 62nd position respectively. Speedster Mark Wood also moved to 23rd position while his teammate Chris Woakes moved up five places to 31st in the rankings following a strong bowling performance in the Fourth match.
