Jadon Sancho lashes out at Erik ten Hag’s comments after Arsenal defeat

Jadon Sancho hits back at manager Erik ten Hag, after he said that the Englishman was dropped for Sunday’s game against Arsenal because of poor training performance.

United suffered a 3-1 defeat to Arsenal at the Emirates on Sunday. Marcus Rashford put the visitors ahead against the Gunners. But Martin Odegaard scored the equalizer just 1 minute later in the first half.

In the second half, United thought they had won the game after Alejandro Garnacho’s goal, but it was ruled offside.

Furthermore, Arsenal then scored the winner in the added time through new signing Declan Rice and extended their lead further after Gabriel Jesus’ strike.

Ten Hag’s comments on Sancho not being included in the squad

After the game, Ten Hag was angry and said that Garnacho’s goal should have stood while insisting Rasmus Hojlund should have been awarded a penalty.

The Dutchman was also asked about Sancho, who, was not included in his squad for the match. Ten Hag said that the winger had been dropped due to his standard in training.

Ten Hag’s comments on Jadon Sancho: “Jadon, on his performances in training we did not select him. You have to reach a level every day at Manchester United, and we can make choices in the front line. So for this game, he was not selected.”

Sancho’s fiery response to manager Erik ten Hag

After Ten Hag’s statements, Sancho responded to him on Twitter: “Please don’t believe everything you read! I will not allow people saying things that are completely untrue, I have conducted myself in training very well this week.

“I believe there are other reasons for this matter that I won’t go into, I’ve been a scapegoat for a long time which isn’t fair! All I want to do is play football with a smile on my face and contribute to my team.

“I respect all decisions that are made by the coaching staff, I play with fantastic players and (am) grateful to do so which I know every week is a challenge. I will continue to fight for this badge no matter what!”

According to reports, there had been pre-existing tension between Ten Hag and Sancho, and the pair are due to have a face-to-face meeting this week.
