‘I’ve answered this a lot of times…’: Rohit Sharma Angered on question about Virat Kohli

The opening of a three-match ODI series between Team India and the West Indies will be played in Barbados on Thursday. The team defeated the West Indies 1-0 in the Test series, with the second and final game resulting in a tie when the last day of play was rained out.

The team will compete in its first ODI since March of this year, when it took on Australia in a three-match series and lost 1-2 at home under Rohit Sharma’s leadership. This time, however, India will play a West Indies team that had a difficult month after missing out on the 2023 World Cup.

Virat Kohli’s maiden overseas red-ball century in nearly five years was one of the game’s big positives, despite the second match ending in a tie. India performed well in the West Indies Tests. In December 2018 in Perth, Kohli became the last player to get a Test century while playing away from home. The great batsman scored a stunning 121 runs before having his innings ended by a run out.

What happens inside, stays inside: Rohit Sharma on question over Virat Kohli

Rohit Sharma, the captain, was questioned about the significance of players like Kohli achieving three-figure figures as the Indian batter racked up another century in the West Indies. Rohit was questioned by a reporter about whether there were worries about Kohli’s lack of tons and whether there had been any conversations about it. The Indian captain, who has addressed the issue on numerous prior times, stressed that the team is unconcerned with “outside noises.”

“I’ve answered this question a lot of times. All the outside talk, who scored how many, took how many wickets… people who say such things don’t know what happens inside. For us, what happens inside stays inside. We prefer that. For us, the most important is to win matches, not who’s talking what. It doesn’t matter to us,” Rohit said in the press conference.

“Our priority is the three ODI matches right now, we’re focusing on that,” he further said.

After the three ODIs, India will play the Windies in five T20Is, with Hardik Pandya serving as captain. Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma are both still missing from the two formats.
