Jasprit Bumrah, Prasidh Krishna, Tilak Verma, and Sanju Samson yet to give yo-yo test
Four Ireland bound players Jasprit Bumrah, Prasidh Krishna, Tilak Verma, and Sanju Samson are yet to join the team in the training camp before the Asia Cup in Alur as the players have been granted rest after returning from Ireland where team India was playing a three-match T20I series.
KL Rahul on the other hand is yet to give the yo-yo test as the batter is working on his keeping after returning from a long injury layoff. Earlier it was reported that the players returning from Ireland will join the camp on Friday but according to reports the players have been granted rest after returning from Ireland and will undergo the fitness test later.
The Preparation
Indian team has already completed two days of a full-fledged training camp before the Asia Cup which started with fitness drills on Day one where the players underwent the yo-yo test with Shubman Gill clocking the best score of 18.7 in the test.
Virat Kohli’s yo-yo test score of 17.2 sparked huge controversy as the batter had posted the same on social media which did not go down well with BCCI officials as it was termed as a breach of contract by Virat Kohli who later deleted the post.

“The Yo-yo test being an aerobic endurance fitness test, the results could vary from when you last played and how much of workload you have gone through in the past week. “Gill as of now has the highest score of 18.7. Most of the players have scored between 16.5 and 18,” a BCCI source privy to developments told PTI on conditions of anonymity.
“If the players have a gap between two tournaments, the National Cricket Academy’s sports science team along with sports staff of India team does conduct all the mandatory tests,” the source said. Virat Kohli was seen engaged in an intense betting session along with Shreyas Iyer on day two of the camp where the duo batted together for almost an hour before going for a Centre wicket practice.
