It’s a monumental night for cricket fans as IPL 2023 ends exactly like it began. In the first game of the campaign, Chennai Super Kings and Gujarat Titans squared off, and the season finale will take place at Ahmedabad’s venerable Narendra Modi Stadium.
Rain, however, has disrupted the proceedings, and the waiting game continues. The toss has been postponed for the time being, and the covers are on. The fans are still swarming the stadium despite the rain, and the most of them are wearing yellow jerseys with the name Dhoni on the back.
It will be CSK’s fifth championship if they succeed in winning tonight. On the other side, Gujarat, who won their first championship in the previous edition, will be aiming for their second.
What will happen if rain washes away IPL 2023 Final?
While the game can be delayed up to 12:26 AM IST for a 5-over-per side clash, however, there’s a reserve day as well for the final.
If even that seems to be impossible, it will start afresh from the toss on Monday. Moreover, another day 30 May is also reserved for the final if the rain doesn’t stop. If rain doesn’t even allow that to happen then GT will be declared winners for finishing above CSK in the table in the league stage.
