IPL 2023 closing ceremony: King and Nucleya set to entertain fans at Narendra Modi Stadium

The final of the 16th season of Indian Premier League (IPL) is approaching and the excitement can be felt. The two-month long tournament will come to an end on Sunday, May 28 as the final match of the 2023 season will take place at the Narendra Modi Stadium.

Four-time IPL champion Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have already locked their spot in the summit clash after beating defending champions Gujarat Titans (GT) by 15 runs in Qualifier 1 on Tuesday and awaiting their challenger for the prestigious title clash.

On the other hand, Rohit Sharma’s five-time Mumbai Indians (MI) and Harik Pandya’s defending champions Gujarat Titans (GT) are all set to compete against each other in the Qualifier 2 on Friday to determine CSK’s opponent for the final.

King and Nucleya to perform at IPL 2023 final

To make the final more entertaining, BCCI have invited popular rapper King and musician Nucleya (Udayan Sagar) to take the stage before the final at Ahmedabad. IPL announced the exciting news on their social media handles with a caption which reads:

“Ahmedabad – You are in for a treat! Brace yourselves for an iconic evening as King & @NUCLEYA have some power-packed performances in store for you. How excited are you to witness the two in action.”

CSK is the most successful franchise in the history of the IPL and emerged the champion four times. This will be their tenth IPL final and they will look to win this season again. Mumbai Indians is the second most successful team with five titles under their belt.

Can Gujarat Titans defend their title?

Gujarat Titans, who were introduced last year in the tournament have become the most successful team since then winning the title in his debut season and finishing the league stage at top of the points table this season.

Despite losing Qualifier 1 against CSK, GT has a great chance to win their second consecutive IPL title as both the Qualifier 2 and the final will be played at their home ground (Ahmedabad) and they have performed well at Narendra Modi Stadium.

Only two teams have successfully managed to defend their title in the history of the tournament – first CSK did it in 2011 and then MI defended their crown in 2020. If Hardik-Pandya-led side manage to defend their title, then they will become the third franchise to do so.
