Inter Miami: MLS Club set to seal Lionel Messi-Luis Suarez reunion at Miami, to exploit club loophole to complete dream unity

Inter Miami are set to get one more of FC Barcelona’s former legend among their ranks, as according to latest reports from several news outlets, Luis Suarez, former Liverpool and Barca player is set to join Inter Miami in a dream reunion with his best friend Lionel Messi. The MLS club is reported to explore options to make this dream into reality as America might get one of the finest strikers of this generation.

Luis Suarez to Inter Miami- here we go?

Luis Suarez has been one of the legends in the front, marshalling his troops to attack the opponent defenders. Coming from a quaint town in Uruguay, Suarez is the definition of a blend of hard work and talent. He has been a legend with Ajax, but his fate changed when he joined Premier League giants Liverpool. At the Reds, Suarez has been considered one of the biggest names ever to have graced Anfield, as his exuberance and exceptional ability to become monstrous in front of the goal would never be forgotten by the streets.

Fast forward to 2014, when Luis Suarez, already being looked upon as one of the biggest names, decided to join one of the greatest football clubs in the world, FC Barcelona. It was then when a famous trident of Messi-Neymar-Suarez was born, which led to the biggest destructions among the ranks. The enterprising troika, who are often considered to be one of football’s finest, had wreaked havoc when they were together at Barca, winning multiple trophies and etching their names among the record books.

Won Golden Boot at Barca, achieved La Liga at Atletico

Luis Suarez would always be remembered for one of the historic feats he had achieved during his career at Barca. When the Golden Boot race was always between two of football’s metronomes, Messi and Ronaldo, Suarez became the only star to win the prestigious award, surpassing two of them in a three-throng race, thus establishing himself on the Spanish football history books.

After leaving Barca in 2020 owing to some financial constraints exposed at Barca, Suarez joined arch rivals Atletico Madrid, and went on to win the La Liga with them, thus becoming a rare breed of players who have won the Spanish League title with two different sides. He joined Gremio, the legendary Brazilian side, and have played his last game for the giants on December 4, with a fitting end to his career at Brazil by scoring the winner against Vasco Da Gama. It has been reported that he has already agreed to join his best friend Lionel Messi at Inter Miami, under whose leadership the David Beckham-owned club has won their first ever title- the Leagues Cup.

Inter Miami exploring options to achieve Messi-Suarez dream reunion

Lionel Messi has been one of the biggest names to have featured in the MLS, as along with the Argentine World Champion, his former Barca mates are also among the ranks in the club, namely Jordi Alba and Sergio Busquets, and with Suarez’s addition, Miami would look lethal with the eye-catching quartet of Messi-Suarez-Alba-Busquets. According to several strong sources, Suarez is set to join the eight-time Balon D’Or winner, and is slated to occupy the Designated Player (DP) spot, which is destined by MLS authorities to sign three players above the salary cap. Currently, Messi, Busquets occupy two spots, with Gregore the third.

Miami are set to activate the Target Allocation Money (TAM) to sign Suarez, which would keep his salary well below DP threshold, which might be pale compared to Messi’s salary, but the Uruguayan legend is keen on reuniting with former Barca mates.

When Messi and Suarez were at Barca, the duo won multiple accolades in the form of Four La Liga titles, a UEFA Champions League and Club World Cup in 2015. With a reunion on the cards, they are expected to unleash their magic once again, as Inter Miami would look to strengthen their hold on the American soil, with fans eager to witness an all-time classic reconciliation.
