Indian Women’s Blind Cricket Team Defeated Australia to Win Maiden IBSA World Games Title

The Indian women’s blind cricket team made history on Saturday when it defeated Australia in the IBSA World Games final by nine wickets and took home the gold medal. The women’s cricket team had amazing fortitude during the match that was ruined by the rain, and they ultimately became the first cricket team to win at the IBSA World Games.

Midway through 2020, word spread that India would soon have its first-ever women’s blind cricket team. Fast forward to 2023, and The Cricket Association for the Blind in India (CABI) made the historic announcement on April 11 of the selection of India’s first-ever women’s blind team, which will tour Nepal for a bilateral series from April 25 to 30. Not too late, this super-team made into highlights for creating history and making all the Indian citizens proud.

The Indian women’s team faced up against Australia on August 26 and won by an eight-wicket margin, kicking off their campaign in a fairly spectacular way. India successfully reduced Australia to a total of 59/6 and quickly accomplished the goal.

The Indian side then displayed an amazing performance in their subsequent match against England, scoring 268/2 in just 20 overs. Gangavva H., the star performer, significantly contributed with a 117-run total from 60 balls. The English team suffered a shocking 185-run defeat as a result of their outstanding performance.

India continued to dominate, extending their winning streak into the third game, which was played on Wednesday. India easily trounced Australia by a huge margin of 163 runs. The team qualified for the finals on Thursday thanks to its incredible performance.

India vs. Pakistan in the Men’s IBSA World Games finals

In the IBSA World Games finals on Saturday, Pakistan will face the men’s blind cricket team. India’s goal will be to defeat their longtime adversary, Pakistan, in order to exact revenge for their previous defeat. Pakistan defeated India in the opening game of this season by 18 runs.

India’s men’s team played some excellent cricket against Bangladesh, defeating them by seven wickets to advance to the final two. Bangladesh was restricted by India to a total of 144/6 in the allotted 20 overs. India then successfully pursued this goal with a comfortable cushion of 18 deliveries remaining.
