Feeling very good: IPL star Rinku Singh after winning MOM for his first Int’l innings

Speaking during the presentation ceremony after the match, Rinku said that he was feeling very good after winning the Player of the Match award. The finisher said that he was eager to bat on Sunday, after not getting to have a go on his India debut in the 1st T20I.

“Feeling very good. This is my second game and was very much eager to get batting. I tried to replicate what I did in IPL. Yes, I will listen to what my captain [Bumrah] says,” Rinku laughed while speaking in the post-match presentation ceremony.

Speaking with the help of Jasprit Bumrah as the translator, Rinku said that he had been putting in hard work for the last 10 years and is glad to see that getting paid off.

“Feels very good. The hard work that I have done, has been working hard for 10 years. The hard work that I did gets paid off with such contributions. The first game I batted and could not get any happier,” Rinku concluded.

The Jasprit Bumrah-led unit also went 2-0 up in the three-match series. Batting first, India piled up a challenging 185/5 in 20 overs after being invited to bat first. He was also involved in a crucial 71-run partnership with Sanju Samson after India lost Yashasvi Jaiswal (18 off 11 balls), and Tilak Varma (1 off 2 balls) inside the powerplay overs.

In response, Ireland got off to a terrible start, almost similar to India. Prasidh Krishna injected two blows in his first over and Ravi Bishnoi made it three in the final over of the powerplay. Apart from Andrew Balbirnie, who scored 72 off 51 balls, no other Irish batters could withstand the Indian bowling attack, spearheaded by the skipper Jasprit Bumrah. The skipper along with Krishna and Bishnoi finished with two wickets each as Ireland could only manage 152/8 in 20 overs.
