After India’s exciting three-wicket victory against Bangladesh in the second Test on Sunday, Ravichandran Ashwin made fun of a Twitter user who tried to mock the all-rounder. Ashwin showed how valuable his contributions are to Indian cricket. He exhibited his all-round abilities in the match, taking six wickets in the game and adding a crucial 42 runs to a successful 145-run chase in Dhaka.

India was reeling at 74/7 at one stage as the Bangladeshi spinners had spun a web around the Indian batters. Much to India’s rescue, Ravichandran Ashwin and Shreyas Iyer stitched a match winning 71 runs to save India from the jaws of defeat. In thus partnership, Iyer contributed with an unbeaten 29 runs while Ashwin with an unbeaten 42 runs.

However, Ashwin was extremely lucky when he was given a chance while batting on 1 run. He inside-edged a ball from spinner Mehidy Hasan Miraz to short leg in an attempt to make a defensive shot, but Mominul Haque was unable to hold onto it.

A twitter user reminded the star all-rounder about this drop catch and stated that Ashwin should hand Mominul Haque his man of the match award for the missed chance aor else India would have bundled out for 89 otherwise.

This tweet triggered Ashwin, who is known for his clever responses. Ashwin then  gave the user a mouth shuttering reply.

While talking to the broadcasters, Ashwin stated that India could have sealed the game when there were chances to do so. He further praised Iyer who played a very crucial knock under pressure.

With this win, India moves one step closer for a place in the ICC WTC Final.
