I’m not sure we would have won against 10 men: Klopp after Liverpool’s 4-1 defeat against Man City

Liverpool and Manchester City clashed in what was expected to be an exhilarating game of football. With Manchester City missing their goal-scoring machine Erling Haaland, all eyes were on 23-year-old Julian Alavarez to step up for the team.

Grealish and De Bruyne Shine in Manchester City’s Victory

The game started with Riyad Mahrez missing the back of the net by a few inches from a free-kick. However, it was Trent Alexander Arnold’s long pass that found Diago Jota, who swiftly left the ball for Mo Salah to burst through the back of the net, marking his 11th time scoring against Liverpool.

Grealish then played a crucial role in a remarkable passing sequence by Manchester City, delivering a perfect low ball for Julian Alvarez to score. City showcased their dominance with a cross from Riyad Mahrez, finding the back of the net with a smooth touch by 28-year-old Belgian star De Bruyne.

In the 53rd minute, a ball hit by Alvarez towards the goal deflected and came back, scored by Gündoğan. With two goals in eight minutes since halftime, the men in red looked dejected as they only had one shot on target in the whole game and no shot on target in the second half. It was a complete dismal and surrender from the Reds. Grealish again beautifully interlinked with Kevin de Bruyne, scoring a fantastic goal, which took City 4-0 up.

Ninth loss of the season for Liverpool

It was a disaster for Klopp’s men as they were thrashed 4-0 away from home. With its ninth loss this season, the Liverpool manager looked dejected as he said, “Liverpool could not have beaten Man City even with an extra player.” Klopp attributed the loss of the game to a poor second-half performance, where City scored three goals.

Slim Chances for Liverpool

Liverpool’s chances of playing in the Champions League are now looking slim. Their next matches would be against the top teams of the league, while Manchester City would be hoping that Arsenal drops points when they face Liverpool next Sunday.
