Gennaro Gattuso sacked as coach of Valencia, know details

It is now officially announced by the Spanish side Valencia that they have indeed sacked their manager Gennaro Gattuso after reaching a mutual agreement with him. Gattuso has been relieved of his duties after taking charge of the La Liga team just 7 months ago. This announcement came after a 1-0 loss that his team suffered against Real Valladolid this weekend and that result meant that Valencia had only won 1 of thier last 10 league games.

After this defeat, the club dropped down to 14th place in the table and they are just 1 point above the relegation zone and apart from that Valencia was also knocked out in the quarter-finals of the Copa Del Rey last week, as they lost 3-1 at home against Atheltic Bilbao.

Journey comes to an end for Gattuso

In the Spanish Super Cup, Real Madrid defeated Valencia over a penalty shootout in the semi-finals. Overall, this season in the league Gennaro’s side has won 5, drawn 5 and lost 8 matches.

The club haven’t announced his permanent replacement yet as they said that assistant coach Voro Gonzalez would take charge on an interim basis at the moment.

But several names have come out in the Spanish media who could now take control of the La Liga side and these include the likes of Gary Neville, Marcelino, Jose Bordalas, Javi Garcia, Pako Ayestran and many more.

It was expected that he might win a domestic trophy with the Spanish side as he had already won Coppa Italia with Napoli which stated that he is a proven winner, but in the end, things did not end well. All in all, Gattuso hasn’t had the best of managerial career’s as now he has been sacked as a coach of AC Milan, Napoli and now Valencia.
