From Mandeep Singh to AB de Villiers: Checkout the list of players with Most Ducks in IPL History

One of the most harrowing feelings for any batter is when he/she gets out for a duck. It’s almost as if you have been stripped bare naked in front of the whole world.

The long walk back to the pavilion amid pin drop silence from the very same fans who were cheering for you for a few minutes must surely feel unending.

List: IPL Batters with most Ducks

If we talk only about the Indian Premier League, no other batsmen will relate to this feeling more than Rohit Sharma and Mandeep Singh.

Mandeep Singh becomes batsmen with most ducks in IPL in KKR vs RCB IPL 2023 match

While playing for the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL 2023) season, right-handed batsman Mandeep Singh now founds himself at the top of an unwanted list of most ducks in the history of the competition. The Kolkata Knight Riders ended up losing their opening match in the ongoing 16th edition of the IPL against Punjab Kings by a margin of 7 runs during their first away encounter of the season.

Kolkata Knight Riders’ experienced Indian batsman Mandeep Singh was unfortunately dismissed clean bowled on a golden duck by Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) pacer David Wiley in the ongoing IPL 2023 match at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata.

Consequently, 31-year-old Mandeep is now at the top of the table for recording the most ducks in IPL with a total of 15 ducks from as many as 97 innings in the history of the T20 competition.

Rohit Sharma, Dinesh Karthik follows from not far behind

This includes Harbhajan Singh, Parthiv Patel, Ajinkya Rahane, Ambati Rayudu, Piyush Chawla. Two of these have opened the innings for the most part of their career which signifies a common phenomenon of openers getting out early in the innings. Rohit Sharma, who has led the Mumbai team to multiple titles, has scored 5880 runs at an average of 30.15 in 223 innings.

Ambati Rayudu also had a dominating impact in the league and was instrumental in CSK’s title-winning campaign in 2018. He has amassed 4202 runs at an average of 28.97 and a strike rate of 127.02 in the league.
