Frank Leboeuf suggests N’Golo Kante to take early retirement amid persisting injury issues

According to widespread reports in the English media, it is believed that the Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante might be forced to retire early due to the horror injuries that he is suffering from.

This is by far the worst season that Kante has ever experienced throughout his career as till now he has only played 2 games and is yet to feature under his new manager Graham Potter after Thomas Tuchel was sacked by the club after disappointing results in the UEFA Champions League.

N’Golo Kante suggested to require early

Lebouef who broke this news said, “I haven’t spoken to Kante directly about his fitness and how he feels but it could be that he’s nearing the end of it [his career].‘Because the thing is we have to understand that we are talking about a human being.

“Suddenly your body says okay, enough, leave me alone. The end of your career is also a part of your career, and you have to choose the right time to give up.Even if you don’t want to and even if your football is great and you want to carry on.”

He was also forced to miss the FIFA World Cup in Qatar this year due to a hamstring problem and that was simply a shock to him as this was possibly the last chance for him to play in the biggest sporting competition in the world.

But apart from the hamstring injury, the Frenchman has also dealt with knee and groin injuries in the past year or two which is completely draining out his physical and mental strength.

Hence now due to his injury record, his contract situation would be very interesting to see as his current deal with the Blues expires in the summer of 2023. But now that Chelsea knows his injury situation, they might be tempted not to renew his contract and for the same reasons no club in Europe might sign him cause he can be injury prone.

And because of all this, Kante who is a Chelsea legend and one of the best midfielders to ever play the game might be forced to retire early in his career just at the age of 31.
