Frank Lampard May Reinforce The List Of Fines Totaling £53.5k From His First Chelsea Spell

After he was sacked and replaced by Thomas Tuchel over two years ago, Chelsea legend Frank Lampard has returned to Stamford Bridge as interim manager. He will be in charge for the rest of the Premier League and Champions League campaigns, while Chelsea owners Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali will be looking for Graham Potter’s long-term successor.

Frank Lampard is known for demanding the highest of standards from Chelsea players and if they fail to meet those expectations, they may have to pay for it from their pocket if he re-introduces his infamous fine list that was leaked from his first spell in charge.

Many aspects of Lampard’s reign as manager were looked upon when he was first shown the door by the club, all the way back in January 2021 and one of the most intriguing parts was his list of fines which totalled a massive £53,500 that were implemented to maintain standards and discipline.

The Fine System To Maintain Punctuality And Discipline

All Chelsea players will need to ensure that they arrive at the right time as they will be fined £20,000 if they are late to training. Punctuality is also needed in team meetings, or players will be fined £500 for every minute if they are late.

All phones will need to be put on silent and then on driving mode when the team meal is served, as Lampard also hands out a £1000 fine if the phone rings during the meal.

If players ever opt for an unhealthy meal after a match, they will need to ensure they do plenty of exercises to work it off the next day, as all players will have BMI (Body Mass Index) targets to stay within. If they go over the limit, they will be handed a fine and quite possibly a very strict exercise and diet routine.

Immediate Targets For Lampard

Lampard will be inheriting a Chelsea team who are still in the Champions League contention. After travelling to Wolves for a premier league game on the weekend, they will take a trip to the Bernabeu for the first leg of the quarter-final against Real Madrid.

Things are looking a bit chaotic at Stamford Bridge at this current moment with the manager being sacked and the new arrival of players who are yet to be settled. However, Lampard is familiar with the scene after having won the Champions League as a player under interim manager Roberto Di Matteo, and the most chaotic seasons can become the most successful in West London.
