Firmino to leave Liverpool for Free at End of Season

Roberto Firmino, a key member of Liverpool’s Champions League winning squad and one of German boss Jurgen Klopp’s trustworthy merchants in the front line is going to depart the club after an eight year stint, which includes seven trophies, including 2019 Champions League and 2020 Premier League triumphs.

The 31-year old has quite a trophy cabinet to boast for at the English Club. He was a crucial addition to the squad when this side played at the Champions League.

Integral member to be missed

Owing to his brilliant link-up play, fantastic work-rate and superb dribbling skills, he remains an integral part of the Liverpool squad, and his essence is missed this season due to injury layoff which he had become recently prone to.

A long warrior on the front

He joined the club under Brendan Rodgers, in 2015, making him to be one of the few members of the Liverpool’s initial build-up to a beast now. He used to play as an attacking mid fielder during his initial days, but transitioned to play as a center forward under Jurgen Klopp, who often used him as a false ‘nine’, and created magic quite a number of times.

“He won’t extend his contract. He will leave the club as a free agent in summer. Seven trophies with Liverpool so far!”- the journalist was heard saying.

Klopp wanted to keep his pivotal forward at bay, but the striker’s agent Max Wittman, gave a hint to Sky Germany that he might stay there beyond his current deal at the club.

“It’s a long relationship between Roberto and Liverpool. Roberto is comfortable. At the moment we are in a great exchange and in February we will probably know where the journey is going.

“But Roberto also has to have a say in order to find an agreement with Liverpool. We are on the right track. We have really good talks with Liverpool.”
