Ferran Torres considering leaving Barcelona in the January transfer window

Barcelona forward Ferran Torres is reportedly considering leaving the La Liga champions in the January transfer window.

Despite scoring goals at the start of the season in both La Liga and the Champions League, the Spaniard has fallen down in the pecking order.

Barca wanted to offload Torres this summer after his poor form last season, but they gave him a chance in the pre-season, and he impressed the coaching staff by scoring in those matches.

According to Diaro AS, Ferran’s representatives do not have a good relationship with Xavi and his coaching staff. His agents feel like Torres does not have the full support of them.

Furthermore, despite Lewandowski’s bad run of form, Torres has not been given a chance to enter into the starting XI.

Moreover, with the arrival of Brazil sensation Vitor Roque, Torres might fall down the pecking order and a departure in the January transfer window is not yet ruled out.

Ferran Torres wants to leave Barcelona in 2024

Torres has played 90 games so far for the Catalan giants, scoring 19 goals and providing 11 assists. This season, he already has 5 goals and two assists in all competitions.

The 23-year-old feels he needs more minutes under his belt in the second half of this season, especially with the Euros scheduled later in the summer of 2024.

He has three goals and an assist in his last five appearances with La Roja. So, he is seeking a move to a club that will provide him with regular minutes, which would then help him to maintain his place in Spain’s squad.

Barcelona won’t hold back Torres’ decision to leave the club, as he is not a regular starter and would allow them to ease their wage structure.

Premier League clubs are closely watching his situation, and they would like to sign the versatile forward in January. Newcastle United were linked with him last month, whereas Tottenham are also looking for a versatile forward in this window.
