Federico Valverde signs new contract with Real Madrid until 2029

Federico Valverde signs new contract with Real Madrid that will keep him at the club until 2029. His new contract will also include a €1 billion release clause.

According to reports, the new deal with the Uruguayan midfielder was agreed in October 2022.

Valverde joins Eduardo Camavinga (2029), Vinicius Junior (2027), and Rodrygo (2028) in extending his Real Madrid deal. Centre-back Eder Militao will also sign his new contract in a few days.

Moreover, Los Blancos are handing out new deals to their young players after their good performances and also shielding them from any possible interest from clubs in the Premier League and Saudi Arabia.

Valverde has made 220 appearances for Real Madrid since signing from Uruguayan side Penarol in 2017. Moreover, he signed a six-year deal in 2021 when his release clause was increased to €1 billion.

Along with Valverde, Real Madrid see Eduardo Camavinga (20), Vinicius Junior (23), Rodrygo (22) and Eder Militao (25) as their key players for many years to come. Nevertheless, the most important player for them is Fede Valverde.

The 25-year-old can play as a right-winger, in midfield and at right-back. The Uruguayan’s versatility and relentless work-rate makes him a different player from others.

Valverde provides cover for Dani Carvajal on the right, but he is also a big threat going forward, as proven by his Champions League-winning assist for Vinicius Jr in the 2022 final against Liverpool.

The Uruguayan hasn’t been at his best this season and has scored just one goal compared to his career best 12 last season. Nevertheless, Real Madrid remain confident that he will return in form.
