Cristiano Ronaldo might be suspended for 30 days following the Juventus controversy

The Italian giants Juventus were slapped with a 15-point penalty in Serie A recently because of the irregularities in thier finances which reportedly includes false bookkeeping and illegal transfer activities.

Now at first it was assumed that the punishment would only be served by the club and the current players of Juventus, but now it is believed that the decision could impact all the players that played for the club during the time of this incident.

It is widely reported in the Italian media that if the players are proven guilty of accepting falsely lower wages, they would be punished by a 30-day suspension regardless of whether they are still playing for Juventus or not.

Ronaldo likely to face 30 day suspension

It is said that the list of players goes to a number of 23 and this list includes the Portuguese legend, Cristiano Ronaldo who had played for the club between 2018 and 2021, after which he left to join Manchester United.

But regarding Ronaldo, it is also stated that he can sue the Italian team for owing him deferred wages which are around a value of 20 Million Euros. The striker is currently playing with Saudi Arabian side Al Nassr and he had recently made his debut in a friendly game against PSG in which the 5-time Ballon D’or winner scored a brace.

Apart from the players, the court has already punished the board members as President Andrea Agnelli and former CEO Maurizio Arrivabene are banned for 2 years from football. Other than them, 9 other current and former board members were punished which includes Fabio Paratici who is the current Sporting director of Tottenham Hotspur has been imposed with the longest ban as it’ll continue for 30 months.

Bad times for Juventus continue

Now coming to Juventus, this punishment will surely affect the club mentally and also in their season. Juve were already having one of the worst seasons in many years as they were already knocked out of the Champions League in the group stage.

And now this punishment of 15 points has really put them behind of playing in Europe next season. Before the penalty was imposed, the Italian giants were 3rd in the league table but now they will be dropped into mid-table which would result in 12 points from the UCL spots.
