IND vs AUS: According to the latest developments, Indian batter Shreyas Iyer complained of pain in his lower back following the third day’s play. Consequently, he has gone for scans while the BCCI Medical Team is said to be monitoring him.
Shreyas Iyer suffers back Injury
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) confirmed the development on Sunday morning, 12 March after the batter did not take the field after the dismissal of Ravindra Jadeja in the morning session of the game.
Earlier, Iyer was ruled out of first Ind vs Aus Test with a back injury. The Mumbai batter, however, regained full fitness by the second Test onwards. Moreover, Iyer had initially opted out of the ODI series against New Zealand and was later asked to undergo rehab at the National Cricket Academy (NCA).
Shreyas Iyer in IND vs AUS Test series so far
In the ongoing Border Gavaskar Trophy, Shreyas Iyer has not been as impactful as one would expect this classy batter to be. After missing the first Test due to the same back injury, Iyer only managed to score 16 runs in the second Test. In which, 4 came off 10 balls in the 1st inning, while 12 off 10 in the second.
Iyer’s bat again failed to show its impact in the 3rd test. After a duck in the first innings, Iyer finally scored a bit in the second. However, we expect way more than 26 runs from this classy as well as flamboyant player.
