Boxing Day Test: List of achievements unlocked by David Warner on his 100th Test

#1 BECAME ONLY THE SECOND BATTER TO SCORE A DOUBLE CENTURY OH HIS 100TH TEST MATCH

David Warner became the 10th man in Test history to score a century in his 100th Test, and the second to score a double, breaking a near three-year Test century drought with a rollicking innings against South Africa at MCG.

On top of that, in making his 25th Test century, and his third Test double century, he joined an illustrious group of names to achieve the milestone and became just the second Australian to do it behind Ricky Ponting, who is the only player to score twin hundreds in his 100th Test. Additionally, Joe Root was the only other player to score a double hundred in his 100th Test.

#2 COMPLETED 8000 TEST RUNS

David Warner with his double ton completed 8000 runs in Test cricket. He become the eighth player from his nation to do so.

The stylish southpaw currently has 8,042 Test runs at an average of 46.21 in 183 innings across 100 Tests. He has 25 hundreds to his name in the longer format and has scored 34 half-centuries as well. His best individual score in this format of the sport is 335*.

Notably, he is also the seventh-highest run-scorer for Australia in Test cricket.

#3 EQUALLED SACHIN TENDULKAR’S RECORD TO SCORE MOST 100S AS AN OPENER

The 36-year-old Warner has also registered the highest amount of centuries by an opener, with total of 45 centuries. He has 20 centuries in ODIs and 25 in the longer format. Legendary Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar is tied with 45 centuries, he has hit 45 of his 100 centuries as an opener.
