Chelsea faces injury crisis: Sterling, Pulisic injured against ManCity

Chelsea’s injury concerns have now indeed worsened in the new year as they suffered a triple attacking blow with the likes of Raheem Sterling and Christian Pulisic getting out of the game in the first half against Manchester City and later on Mason Mount being the victim.

Potter’s Chelsea are currently 10th in the Premier League table with just 25 points in 17 games. They are definitely much better than that and a big reason for their bad form in the last couple of months is the injury crisis that they are dealing with. Apart from Sterling and Christian, players like Reece James, Wesley Fofana, N’Golo Kante, Ben Chilwell, Armando Broja and Loftus Cheek are all on the sidelines.

Sterling and Pulisic injuries

Sterling was the player to get injured first and then he was subbed off in just the 5th minute after suffering from an apparent leg injury in the opening moment against Pep Guardiola’s side.

Graham Potter refused to go into details after the match but admitted that Raheem “felt it with the first minute of the game”. He is now going into recovery and is expected to be back at the end of the month

Like Sterling, Pulisic went off in the first half too with a knee injury after seeing a shot well blocked by the Manchester City defender John Stones sliding tackle. Hence all these injuries, it has made the manager’s job a bit difficult as on the weekend they’ll face City again in the FA Cup third round.
