Champions League: Lionel Messi confident of knocking out Bayern Munich

World Champion Lionel Messi has achieved several milestones in his career, be it from club point of view or from national side. Winning the World Cup is the latest jewel in his crown, where he was adjudged the Player of the Tournament, amassing seven goals. His impeccable dribbling skills, overtaking opponent defenders with his swift movements was the talk of the town after the World Cup was over.

After achieving seventh heaven with the National side, adding three trophies to his cabinet( Copa America 2021, Finalissima 2022, and World Cup 2022), Messi now turns his focus on his club, Paris Saint-Germain.

They will be facing their nemesis, the German Champions, Bayern Munich, tomorrow, in a clash of the heavyweights in Munich, in the UEFA Champions League.

They trail by one goal , thanks to a winner by former PSG player Kingsley Coman. So, as it stands, PSG will have to perform an uphill task by making a comeback against the German champions.

It is not going to be easy

With the star trio in front comprising Messi, Neymar and Mbappe, it could have been a cakewalk for the French champions. But, unfortunately it would not be the case as they have been handed with the worst possible news ahead of the clash.

Star player Neymar has been ruled out of the season, and is out for three to four months, which means he will not be able to feature in any of the remaining games this season.

“Ney”- as he is fondly called by his teammates, was having a fairytale season, scoring 18 goals and assisting 17 of them.

“Ready for challenge”

However, star Argentine and legend Messi is confident of knocking out Bayern Munich, after facing several obstacles against the Germans, which includes a humiliating 2-8 defeat, when he was at Barcelona. This time, he feels confident of defeating them, which will help them progress to the next stage of the Champions League.

He was heard saying, “It’s going to be a very difficult game which will be decided by small details. Winning at this stadium is very tough. But I think we’re well prepared and capable of turning the situation around. We’ll go to Munich with this intention.”

Messi himself is having a dream season, already having 50 goal contributions , still half a season left , scoring 30 of them and helping others score on 20 occasions.

With the level of talent and plethora the PSG team possesses, it is surely confident of their victory against the Bavarian team, but they will have to be aware of the Bayern threat, comprising the likes of Mueller, Pavard, Sadio Mane.
