Lampard’s journey comes to an end as Everton manager

Frank Lampard brought some change in fortune for the club. He won 10 out of 18 games in charge last season, and managed to save his team from being relegated.

The fans expected Lampard and co. to have a better outing in the second season in charge. But certainly did not turn out to be the case. Instead, things turned out to be worse in this new season.

Before the game against Hammers, Everton had played 19 total Premier League games. And they won just 3 of them, while drawing 6 they had suffered 10 defeats, which led them to closer to the relegation zone yet again.

Lampard’s stint with Everton

The loss against West Ham dropped them to the 19th position though. And now they are 2 points clear of the bottom place on the table. A spot the club would do anything to avoid. Hence, the departure of Lampard was eminent.

Lampard’s stint at Everton was the worst of his career as yet. He could only manage to win 12 out of his 44 games in charge with a win percentage of 22%. Even at Chelsea he had a better percentage of 52.4%.

With his recent stint at the Premier League club, he has become the second worst performing Everton Manager in the league. With just 9 wins from 38 games he averages 0.9 points per game.

The club is yet to issue an official statement on the depature of Lampard but there are some rumors about the next manager being Nuno Santo, who formerly coached Premier League sides like Wolves and Tottenham.

From this performance it is clear that Lampard is not ready for this level of football as yet. Hence he will be eyeing a role at some smaller level where he can work with more authority and freedom.
