BREAKING! BCCI Announced India Squad for Ireland Tour: Jasprit Bumrah Returns as Captain
Groundbreaking news for Indian Cricket fans: Jaspret Bumrah will lead India’s T20I team in his comeback to cricket as part of the team that the BCCI has announced for the country’s upcoming tour of Ireland.
Notably, BCCI secretary Jay Shah had said earlier in July that Bumrah was ready to return to action. Bumrah’s comeback is good news for the ODI team as well as the star pacer is all set to be available for the ODI World Cup. Bumrah is likely to be part of the Asia Cup squad for the continental tournament, starting August 30.
Among other additions to the squad, Prasidh Krishna, who last played a game for India during the ODI series against Zimbabwe last year, is also back in the team.

Jaspret Bumrah Returns in Indian colours; Set to lead India Squad for Ireland Tour
In the lone Test match played in England last summer, Bumrah captained the Indian squad for the first time. Since his last appearance for the national team in September 2022 because of a back ailment, Bumrah has been sidelined. India will need the 29-year-old to be in top physical shape as they get ready for the ODI World Cup, which begins in October.
During the India tour of England in July 2022, the right-arm pacer experienced a similar issue that cost him two months of playing time. Due to back issues, Bumrah was unable to play in the T20 World Cup in Australia and hasn’t played in a competitive cricket event since, including the World Test Championship Final last month and the IPL 2023.
