The Brazillian FA have confirmed their interest in Carlo Ancelotti the current Real Madrid coach. He could be available to lead the Selecaos once the European season ends for him at the Bernabeu.
But there is another option for the five times champion: Jose Mourinho the current Roma coach is also a favorite to become their coach. Still, for now, the odds are heavily favoring the Italian.
Currently, they are without a permanent head coach and are led by Ramon Menzenes the temporary manager till the new coach arrives.
Brazil FA speaking highly of Ancelotti
Rodrigues acknowledged that the 63-year-old Italian was his main target and everyone’s favorite to be in charge of Brazil whose last coach Tite left the job after they were knocked out of the 2022 World Cup by Croatia in the quarter-finals.
“Ancelotti is unanimously respected among players. Not only Ronaldo Nazario or Vinicius Jr but all those that have played for him,” Rodrigues told Reuters in an exclusive interview.”I really admire him for his honesty in the way he works and how constant his work is. He needs no introductions. He is really a top coach who has several achievements and we hope he can have even more.”
Despite speaking highly of the Italian, Rodrigues pointed out that Brazil must be careful to respect due process as Ancelotti is under contract with Real Madrid until 2024. He said that no formal contact or approach has so far been made by the Brazilian FA with Ancelotti or any other manager and that they will start to talk to the candidates in mid-April with the objective of announcing their new coach by the end of May.
Support of the players
Many players like Vinicius Rodrygo and Casemiro are welcoming the idea of the current coach coming into the national setup as he understands them all and has experience with them and knows them inside out but one of the players who seem to be supporting him is their Goalkeeper Ederson.
Ederson: “I spoke to Casemiro, Vinicius, and Militão… there’s a big possibility that Carlo Ancelotti is gonna become the new coach of Brazil” We will try to eliminate Real Madrid so that Ancelotti can come to Brazil as quickly as possible!”, he added smiling.
And with the loss to Morocco, the need for a new head coach has just grown louder and louder and they need to quickly get a new head coach.
