BCCI Announce India’s Schedule for 2023-24 Home season; Will Host Australia, Afghanistan, and England

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced the home international schedule of India for the 2023- 24 season. During this period ‘Men in Blue’ will play three ODIs 8 T20Is and 5 Test Matches in total.

The home season kicks off with a three-match ODI series against Australia in September which will be followed by the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup to be held in India in October- November.

Australia will resume its tour of India after the World Cup with a five-match T20I series. Three ODIs will be played in Mohali, Indore, and Rajkot on September 22,24 and 27 respectively. All matches will be day-night fixtures and will start at 1:30 PM(IST)

India’s T20I schedule for 2023 Home season

Talking about the T20I series the five games of the shortest international format will be played in Vishakhapatnam, Thiruvananthapuram, Guwahati, Nagpur, and Hyderabad respectively. The first three T20Is will be played on November 23, 26, and 28 while the tour concludes with the last two T20Is on December 1 and 3. All the matches will be night games and will start at 7 PM(IST).

After the conclusion of the Australia series, India will travel to South Africa for a full-fledged multi-format tour. India’s home season will resume with a three-match T20I series against Afghanistan.

India and Afghanistan were originally scheduled to play against each other in a three-match ODI series in June this year but the series was postponed due to the absence of a broadcaster as BCCI’s contract with the previous broadcaster Disney Star ended after the home series against Australia in March.

The Tests

The T20I series against Afghanistan will begin on January 11 with the second and third match scheduled to take place on January 14 and 17 in Mohali, Indore, and Bengaluru respectively.

England will visit India after the Afghanistan T20Is for a five-match test series which will be a part of the World Test Championship 2023-25. The five matches will be played in Hyderabad, Vishakhapatnam, Rajkot, Ranchi, and Dharmshala respectively. The series kicks off on January 25 with the final test to be played from March 7
