Julien Nagelsmann, the Bayern Munich manager is set to be sacked by the club, owing to a string of poor results. Due to their struggling outcomes this season which saw them slip to second might be the driving reason behind this decision of sacking.
Bayern sack Nagelsmann after poor run of form
Nagelsmann has been criticized for the recent results in the German League as the defending champions are not living up to the expectations of the fans and owners. Thy lost 1-2 in the last game against Bayer Leverkusen. He had been absent on the training ground this week and is set to meet Bayern bosses who will inform him officially of the decision.
Another German mind at the helm
Thomas Tuchel, who has been out of job since sacked by Chelsea in September, is set to, be roped in by the Bavarian giants. New owner Todd Boehly had fired him after the former had failed to perform on the bigger stage. He had been living in Munich for few weeks, and Bayern players and staff had already been informed about their new coach.
Bayern Munich has won 10 consecutive Bundesliga titles and they will face Pep Guardiola’s side Manchester City in the Champions League quarter finals. It will see Guardiola face his former side, with the winner set to face Real Madrid or Chelsea for a place in the final.
Change of minds to keep record intact
Tuchel had already managed Borussia Dortmund and Paris Saint Germain, with taking the French champions in the Champions League finals before losing.
It would be interesting to see how his tactical changes and mentality helps Bayern Munich in the business end of the season, as he becomes another German to cross the Bayern-Dortmund barrier.
Bayern has won 60 out of 84 games under Nagelsmann’s charge but has won just one Bundesliga and two German Super Cups, after taking managerial responsibility in July 2021.
