Barcelona yet to register three players in the La Liga squad

The La Liga champions are yet to register Marcos Alonso, Inaki Pena and new signing Inigo Martinez for the 2023/24 campaign.

Furthermore, if the German funding comes this week, the trio and Joao Cancelo will be registered in La Liga. The club has been facing the registration problem for quite some time now.

Moreover, La Liga’s strict FFP rules were the main reason why Messi wasn’t registered and had to leave to join PSG. In this summer window, the World Cup winner was eager to return to the club, but the club did not generate enough FFP to register him.

So, he decided to sign for MLS club Inter Miami. The Catalan giants had another chance to sign their former talisman, but they failed to do that. The club have also offered new captain Marc Andre Ter Stegen a new contract. If he signs a new contract, the club will be able to register the remaining players.

The German goalkeeper is ready to reduce his wages, and in return, he will sign a contract until 2028.

Barcelona are yet to register Marcos Alonso, Inaki Pena and Inigo Martinez

The club have only signed free agents this summer apart from Oriol Romeu. Ilkay Gundogan and Inigo Martinez have arrived on a free transfer. The club paid a reported fee of €8 million for Romeu.

However, they have spent almost €40 million to sign Brazilian sensation Vitor Roque, who will join the club in January 2024.

Ex-Chelsea left-back Marcos Alonso signed a new one-year contract in January. Meanwhile, Inaki Pena signed a new deal in May this year, but there is no space to register them.

As for Martinez, he is suffering from an injury during pre-season, which rendered him unavailable anyway. Moreover, with Joao Cancelo’s arrival, the club need to move fast to register the remaining players.
