Barcelona ready to end ‘Nike kit partnership’

In latest football updates, Barcelona are ready to end their kit partnership with Nike as the La Liga champions are reportedly unhappy with the partnership.

For the last 25 years, Nike have produced kits for the Blaugrana club, and their current deal runs until 2028. If this deal runs until 2028, it would also mean that Nike would have made kits for Barca for exactly 30 years.

Nike have provided some of the most iconic kits, which have been donned by some of the greatest players ever to play the game.

Great Barcelona players like Ronaldinho, Andres Iniesta and Lionel Messi have worn the Nike kits when they were playing for the Catalan club.

Barcelona’s deal with Nike is one of the most lucrative deals in football, as it brings in a minimum of €100 million a season. Moreover, the deal also has the potential to top €155 million with bonuses every 12 months.

Puma and New Balance interested in becoming Barcelona’s new jersey sponsor

The current Barcelona deal was signed back in 2018, and according to Sport, the Catalan club’s hierarchy is not satisfied with the products they have received from Nike.

Moreover, they reportedly want to renegotiate the deal, as they feel it has undervalued the club’s worth.

Puma and New Balance are other kit suppliers who are very much interested in supplying the Catalan club. Nevertheless, it remains to be seen if Barcelona do end up negotiating their deal with Nike.

Furthermore, if they cannot end up parting from Nike, either prematurely or at the end of their current contract in 2028, they will have no shortage of potential suitors to fill the gap.

Puma and New Balance will be the front runners if the club’s partnership with Nike ends in the near future.
