Arsenal interested to sign Barcelona forward Raphinha, reports

According to widespread reports in the English media, Arsenal football club are interested to sign the Brazilian superstar Raphinha from the Spanish giants FC Barcelona.

This interest arose after the Gunners missed out on the signing of Mudryk as their arch-rivals Chelsea hijacked the deal by signing the Ukrainian for an astronomical amount of 100 Million Euros.

And since then they have inquired about the forward to Barcelona and the La Liga side have reportedly slapped a price of around 100 Million Euros if the North London side wants to sign the winger.

Arsenal had previously tried to sign the former Leeds United winger in the summer transfer window but the Brazilian turned down a move to the Emirates Stadium and instead chose to move to the Camp Nou and also rejected a chance to join Chelsea too.

Arsenal interested in Raphinha

Since joining the Catalan side for a fee of 55 Million Euros, the forward has struggled for consistency during his tenure as he has just scored just two goals and has managed to provide 2 assists too in 15 La Liga games.

Mikel Arteta is extremely keen to add a forward who can help guide Arsenal to win the Premier League title as they are currently 8 points ahead of Manchester City at the top of the Premier League table.

This is mainly also because of the injuries of Gabriel Jesus and Emile Smith Rowe and now the Gunners surely need squad depth in the long season that is left. But Arsenal needs to make a decision soon as the January transfer window closes in less than 2 weeks’ time.

Raphinha content at Barcelona

However, the move seems to be a highly unlikely one, given the fact that the Brazilian is content at Barca. The numbers might not show it, but Raphinha has had a decent season with Barcelona so far.

Now, he has also managed to win his first title with them only bolsters the belief that he is willing to stay.

After the recent victory over Real Madrid in Super Cup final, Raphinha shared a social media post in which he wrote: “The first of the season, the first with that giant shirt that is FC Barcelona. Just give thanks for this incredible moment, Let’s go for more trophies.”
