Jaiswal’s innings of 124(62) featured an impressive 16 boundaries and eight maximums, and he reached his century in just 53 balls, striking at more than 200 for his 124. He and Jos Buttler added 72 runs for the opening wicket before Buttler was dismissed by Piyush Chawla for 18(19) in the 8th over.
While it is Jaiswal’s first hundred of his T20 career, it is also the highest score of the ongoing IPL 2023. The previous highest score of IPL 2023 was 104(51) recorded by KKR’s Venkatesh Iyer.

Jaiswal, who took his tally past 400 runs this season, had a special liking for Riley Meredith (4-0-51-1) as he hit half of his fours and a six against the Australian pacer.
Jaiswal’s 124 was the joint-highest individual score for RR along with Jos Buttler.
Despite the other Royals batters failing to provide support from the other end, Jaiswal ensured the run-rate never dropped. His knock began with a sturdy 72-run opening stand with Jos Buttler (18), who scored the next-highest score by a RR batter.
Jaiswal was dismissed by a high full toss from left-arm seamer Arshad Khan in the final over of the RR innings, which was reviewed for a potential no-ball but was ultimately ruled in favour of the bowler.
