Who is Francesco Camarda? AC Milan wonderkid becomes youngest Serie A debutant

AC Milan wonderkid Francesco Camarda becomes the youngest player ever to make his debut in Serie A against Fiorentina.

Milan narrowly won the game with a 1-0 score line as Theo Hernandez’s penalty secured an important win for the Rossoneri at San Siro against Fiorentina.

With Olivier Giroud suspended and Noah Okafor injured, Milan decided to call the young striker Camarda. The 15-year-old came on in the 83rd minute to replace Luka Jovic.

Aged 15 years and 260 days, he has become Serie A’s youngest-ever player. He also surpassed the previous record of Bologna’s Wisdom Amey, who was aged 15 years and 274 days old when he made his debut in 2021.

Milan are betting on their young striker as they think Camarda could be the new golden boy of Italian football.

Moreover, this season, Camarda has scored seven goals in 13 games at the youth level. Furthermore, during his time in the academy he has reportedly scored approximately 400 goals (when taking into account five-a-side, seven-a-side, and eight-a-side games).

He also made his UEFA Youth League debut in September, and scored two goals against Newcastle United.

Who is Francesco Camarda’s idol?

The 15-year-old has previously said his hero is Brazilian legend Ronaldo Nazario.

Earlier this year, he said: “My idol has always been Ronaldo, the Phenomenon. My dad was also a big fan of the Brazilian, and I also like watching videos with his plays and his movements.”

Milan will face Borussia Dortmund at San Siro in the Champions League next, and Camarda will be dreaming of a debut in that competition, too.
