Gujarat Giants 30-33 Patna Pirates: Ankit Jaglan shines as Pirates halt Giant’s winning run in PKL 10
In a very closely contested Kabaddi game, Patna Pirates emerged victorious to halt the winning run of the home side Gujarat Giants.
The game started as a very tight contest between the two teams, as neither of them were willing to let lose of the control, or do anything reckless. They were playing at the back of their defense, hence, despite it being a competitive fixture, the first half ended with both teams tied at 12 points each.
It was Patna Pirates who seemed to be the favorite to win the game. They had dominated the proceedings, and Gujarat were barely keeping in the game. but there was an undercurrent of tides changing.

With just 44 seconds on the clock left, Patna lead the game 33-29 and everything for them to lose. Sachin showed his calmness in the situation and played out his complete 30 seconds on the final raid for his side.
Gujarat with just 17 seconds left to work out their final raid was sent back with a consolation point, as they suffered the first defeat of the season in a 30-33 defeat by the hands of 3 time champions Patna Pirates.

Left corner and right cover Ankit Jaglan and Neeraj Kumar were the hero on the mat for Patna. Both of them took 4 points each, to help their side edge out Gujarat Giants.
The point of difference between the two teams was indeed in the tackle points. On one hand Gujarat Giants had just 9 tackle points to their name in comparison to Patna’s 12.
Furthermore, Patna had managed to get 2 all outs on the hosts, in comparison to just 1 all out that was inflicted on them. That too came to their rescue towards the end, as they won by the barest of margins.
