Former Indian pacer and Gujarat Titans coach, Ashish Nehra, left his colleagues in splits with a hilarious act that left left-presenter Murali Kartik in pain during the IPL 2023 match against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at the Eden Gardens.

The footage of the act was shown towards the end of KKR’s innings, but it happened before the start of the match. While discussing the game plan next to the pitch, Nehra attacked his former teammate, leaving Kartik in pain and laughing uncontrollably himself.
Despite the amusing antics before the match, Nehra was all business during the match, praising his bowlers and giving thumbs up to the camera after Joshua Little and Mohammed Shami cleaned up the KKR middle order.
Rahmanullah Gurbaz single-handedly led the charge for KKR, scoring an 81 off 39 balls, but received no support from the other end as batters like Venkatesh Iyer and skipper Nitish Rana fell successively to Little’s bowling. Rinku Singh, the hero of KKR’s previous match against GT, also failed to have an impact on the scoreboard, departing for 19 off 20. Andre Russell’s 34 off 19 helped KKR to a total of 179 for seven.
Kartik’s unexplainable pain
When the footage was shown on broadcast, Kartik was asked about the incident, but he could not explain the situation, calling it “unexplainable.” Nehra, on the other hand, could not stop laughing even as Kartik was helped to his feet.
The incident did not affect the Titans’ performance, as they clinched the match by three wickets, avenging their defeat at home a few weeks ago.
