Former India cricket captain Sourav Ganguly and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee embarked on a special visit to the iconic Santiago Bernabeu Stadium in Madrid. The historic stadium is the home of La Liga giants, Real Madrid. Ganguly and Banerjee were warmly welcomed by a substantial audience as they toured the stadium, including its illustrious trophy room and other facilities.

Mamata Banerjee’s visit to Spain was part of a three-day business summit aimed at attracting foreign investments to West Bengal. The collaboration between the Government of West Bengal and Liga Nacional de Fútbol Profesional (LaLiga) was also highlighted during the event. This partnership aims to enhance football’s growth through mutual cooperation between India and Spain.

The event witnessed the presence of notable figures, including Sourav Ganguly, and H.K. Dwivedi, the Chief Secretary of the Government of West Bengal. Additionally, representatives from two prominent football clubs in West Bengal, Mohun Bagan Athletic Club’s General Secretary, Debasish Dutta, and Mohammedan Sporting Club’s General Secretary, Ishtiaque Ahmed, were in attendance.

A video shared by the All India Trinamool Congress (AITC) on social media showed Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee jogging in Madrid during the early hours of the morning. Her active engagement and participation in various activities during the visit exemplify her commitment to promoting business and sports collaborations between Spain and West Bengal.
