WATCH: Rohit Sharma forgets his passport in team hotel, calls support staff to bring it

Virat Kohli mentioned in one of his interviews that Rohit frequently forgets stuff. According to Kohli, the opening batter frequently forgets his personal items and important documents, which leaves his teammates in disarray. The most recent installment of Rohit’s forgetful saga features a viral video that is being adored by followers on social media.

Rohit Sharma forgets his passport as Team India’s successful Asia Cup stint comes to an end

On September 17 at the R.Premadasa Stadium in Colombo, India defeated Sri Lanka by ten wickets to win their eighth Asia Cup championship. Although Sri Lankan skipper Dasun Shanaka chose to bat first after winning the toss, his batsmen were unable to deliver as they were bowled out for just 50, which is their second-lowest score in ODIs.

Mohammed Siraj was in charge of the destruction as he amassed his best ODI bowling statistics of 6/21 in seven overs. India won the match by ten wickets in response, easily chasing down the score in 6.1 overs. While Rohit Sharma enjoyed a successful game on the field, things were different off it as the Indian skipper had forgotten his passport in the team hotel and had to ask a support staff member to deliver it for him after getting on the team bus.

Resuming the game, India batted first with a new opening partnership of Ishan Kishan and Shubman Gill while chasing a modest total. The pair launched into battle with all of their might and started setting boundaries right away. India achieved their biggest victory in terms of the number of balls left (263 balls) after quickly chasing down the mark in 6.1 overs. Gill scored 27* off 19 while Kishan, who was still undefeated, scored 23* (18).

India’s dominance in the continental tournament was maintained thanks to their victory. The most successful team in the history of the competition is the Men in Blue, followed by Sri Lanka (six titles) and Pakistan (two titles).
