The English midfielder also attracted interest from Arsenal and Liverpool a few weeks ago. But in the end, Manchester United won the race to sign him.

The 24-year-old’s contract with Chelsea was expiring in 12 months, and Chelsea tried a lot to extend his contract with them. However, Mount was reluctant to sign a new deal as he wanted a move away from Stamford Bridge.

Mount made 195 appearances for Chelsea, scoring 33 goals. He also helped his boyhood club win the Champions League in 2021, where is assisted the only goal to Kai Havertz.

The midfielder has been capped 36 times by England and was part of Gareth Southgate’s squad for last year’s World Cup in Qatar.

The former Chelsea midfielder will wear the number 7 from now on for his new club.
