Manchester United ready to sell Scott Mctominay and Fred this summer

Manchester United are ready to sell Scott Mctominay and Fred this summer after signing Mason Mount from Chelsea. Erik Ten Hag also wants to offload Harry Maguire and Jadon Sancho.

Fulham are very much interested in signing Fred from United. Their manager Marco Silva also likes the Brazilian, but Man United are asking a fee of around £20 million.

After the FA Cup final, Fred told the media that he would speak to Ten Hag about his future. However, he also admitted that he wants to stay and play an important role next season.

Mctominay, on the other hand can also be sold, but his contract expires in 2025, and United would like to keep him for another season.

Newcastle United and AC Milan are interested in signing the midfielder. Milan are looking for a player who can replace Sandro Tonali, who joined Newcastle United.

Manchester United look to revamp their midfield by selling Scott Mctominay and Fred

West Ham United are another Premier League club who are looking to sign the Scottish midfielder. After Declan Rice’s official move to Arsenal, the Hammers will accelerate the plans to sign him.

Casemiro, Mount, Christian Eriksen and Donny van de Beek are the only recognised midfielders left in the squad, unless another player is signed. Sofyan Amrabat has been linked, but this seems unlikely given the limited budget reported.

Another player who will see his playtime reduced is Christian Eriksen. The Dane international arrived as a free agent last summer and instantly made an impact. He featured 44 times, registering two goals and ten assists across all competitions.

It will be difficult for the 31-year-old to play another 40 plus game season, but he will be vital in Ten Hag’s setup like last season. Eriksen will be used as a back-up to both Bruno Fernandes and Mason Mount. Moreover the Dane will easily play a second fiddle role to both midfielders.

At least one of Mctominay and Fred will be sold this summer, and that will depend on the amount of money other clubs offer for the midfielders.
