Kylian Mbappe: French striker sets milestone, scores landmark goal against Brest

In latest football news, PSG and French superstar Kylian Mbappe has made history by scoring the 250th club goal of his career, thus setting an important milestone. With this goal, he had achieved a lead with his side in the game against Brest.

Kylian Mbappe- the phenomena

Kylian Mbappe has been one of the biggest names in football since 2016, during his stint with AS Monaco, leading the side to a UEFA Champions League knockout stage. Pitted to be one of the future stars in football, he has been one of the phenomena in football, whose 24-year old bejeweled career with the French giants PSG has been enough to shut his critics. Having played against the best in the form of Lionel Messi and Neymar during their PSG days, Mbappe seems to have turned the clock around, and is well on course to become one of the legends in “The Beautiful Game”. His talent and class was well documented when he won the coveted FIFA World Cup in 2018, as a 19-year old guy, and almost achieved that feat twice when he scored a hattrick in the recent edition of World Cup final against Argentina in Qatar. Today, he added one more feather to that crown while scoring the 250th club goal of his career.

11th top scorer in Ligue 1, tied with Hassan Akesbi

Mbappe’s first strike came for Monaco while he was a teenager in 2016, where he had added 26 more to his tally. He had joined PSG in 2017, where he etched his name in the record books, as he scored 223 more goals for them, gradually showcasing his class and documenting his meteoric rise. Although some of his goals have come for the defending Ligue 1 champions in UEFA Champions League, most of them were in the league.

In the French league, he stands tied with Hassan Akesbi, scoring 173 goals, becoming 11th highest scorer in the charts. It is well said to believe that Mbappe would definitely become one of the top scorers of the League, adding to his tally of goals, which also involves 43 goals for the French National team.

With his goal tonight, Mbappe has secured his ninth goal of the season from nine games, which is slated to increase by the end of the season. He has two more goals in UEFA Champions League, thus rounding off to 11 goals till date.
