Barcelona ready to loan out Ferran Torres this summer

Barcelona are considering loaning out their forward Ferran Torres this summer after an underwhelming season with the club. Their squad looks big after players came back from their loan spells.

The former Man City winger played 33 league games last season, scoring just four goals and assisting two. Moreover, he also missed seven big chances.

The club is also looking to ship out the likes of Clement Lenglet and Segino Dest, as both of them are not in Xavi’s plan going ahead. There are also some players who failed to deliver last season.

Former Manchester City winger ready to return to the Premier League?

Ferran Torres was signed for €55 million from Manchester City in January 2022. Xavi gave him many chances last season, but the winger failed to deliver in any of those.

With the likes of Ez Abde and Lamine Yamal added to the first-team squad, it will be more difficult for the Spaniard to find some game time.

Since his market value dropped, the club are unable to find suitors for him who can pay €40 million for him. If Barca does not sell him for that price, then the deal will be recorded as a loss.

Barcelona working to offload Ferran Torres, Aston Villa and Newcastle United interested

Ferran Torres has many suitors from the Premier League who are ready to acquire his services, but the forward doesn’t want to leave. He hopes to convince Xavi in the pre-season.

Newcastle United are very much interested to sign the winger. Barca’s idea is to loan him out so that he can have regular minutes.

Without spending money, the Magpies might be tempted to loan Torres out for the rest of the season to bolster their attack.

Another club interested in Torres is Aston Villa, as Unai Emery wants him in his team. Villa has a whooping budget of €150 million for this transfer window.

Emery sees him as a good option who can play in multiple positions in attack. He also knows the Premier League well. Moreover, Villa needs a player like Ferran who can lead their attack.
