That is what, according to a source of Sportstar, Sehrawat’s coach reminded him on the eve of his match.
Before heading into the game, Aman Sehrawat was on a call with his coach in India. Lalit Kumar, an akhada coach told Aman, “Before you, 6-7 players from India have already won silver. Apni ladan ladiye. (You fight your own fight)”
The Indian wrestler did just that by defeating his Turkish opponent by near technical superiority. He came from behind to win the game after having given away 2 points earlier on.
His performance was a glimpse of the bright future that Indian wrestling has.
With this victory Aman Sehrawat has already eclipsed the previous triumphs of Bajrang Punia and Ravi Dahahiya. The only question that the Indian fans have is: will he surpass them in Olympics 2024?
