Watch: Cristiano Ronaldo claims being betrayed by Manchester United in sensation interview with Piers Morgan

Just when the footballing world was willing to move on from the Cristiano Ronaldo saga at Old Trafford, the Portuguese forward drops another bombshell.

In a recent interview with Piers Morgan Uncensored TV show, Ronaldo has made it clear that he has no respect for the current Manchester United Manager Erik Ten Hag.

Cristiano Ronaldo has been under the pump since the start of the 2022/23 season. He was reported to be looking for a move away from Manchester United. Despite the fact that he had a year left on his contract with the Red Devils.

However, Ronaldo has revealed that he was pushed out by the senior executives of the club.

On the TV show Ronaldo was asked if he feels being ousted by the Manchester Based club. To this the 5-time ballon D’or said, “Yes, I felt betrayed and I felt like some people don’t want me here, not only this year but last year too.”

Further commenting on the club Ronaldo revealed that since his return to the club, he feels like nothing has changed. According to Cristiano Ronaldo, since Sir Alex Ferguson’s departure there has been no growth of Manchester United as a football club.

Ronaldo pointed out that “(there are) some things inside that don’t help (us) reach the top level as (Manchester) City, Liverpool and even now Arsenal…a club with this dimension should be top of the tree in my opinion and they are not unfortunately.”

Manchester United in Post-Ferguson era

To some extent Ronaldo is right. The football club has seen some decline following the departure of Sir Alex Ferguson in 2013.

Under the legendry manager they never went trophy less for more than 3 seasons. They had an impenetrable home record under Sir Alex.

And since his departure they have failed to win any trophy in the domestic circuit. Their last trophy overall came in the year 2017 under José Muorinho.

Even currently they are 5th on league standings and looking nonthreatening in the league. While in the Europa league they are set to face FC Barcelona in the knockout game after the FIFA World Cup 2022.
