Sterling out of England’s World Cup campaign due to family reasons

England’s finest winger Raheem Sterling, who was missing from the squad of the Round of 16 win over Senegal, will head back to his nation to be with his family and this was confirmed by English manager Gareth Southgate.

This is because Sterling is going through a very tough time as on Saturday some armed burglars broke into his house where his family was leaving and since that intrusion everyone including Sterling himself is absolutely shaken.

Raheem Sterling likely to miss remainder of World Cup 2022

But now that he is leaving everyone in The Three Lions camp supports his decision and wishes him the absolute best. It would be a shame that a player like Sterling is probably going to miss the rest of the world cup.

England have now qualified for the quarter-finals and in the quarters they’ll be facing the defending champions France which is the biggest test for them so far in the tournament. And now on top of that, there is a chance that they would be missing one of their best players on the pitch.

So now Gareth Southgate would have a real selection dilemma against a team like France. But there is still a chance that Raheem might return as there is no official confirmation yet that the winger would miss the rest of the torunament.
