Siraj, Shami, and Thakur to be ferried to Australia ahead of the T20 World Cup.

Pacers Shardul, Siraj, and Shami are set to travel to Australia.
Mohammed Shami, Mohammed Siraj, and Shardul Thakur will be sent to Australia to replace Jasprit Bumrah, who has been ruled out of the World Cup due to a back ailment. On Thursday, the final choice on the replacement will be made (October 14).
The fact that Shami has been asked to travel to Australia indicates that he has recovered from Covid, which has kept him out of action for over a month, and he is the favorite to be the official replacement for Bumrah, but knowledgeable sources within the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) are not ready to confirm that he is the official 15th member of the squad.
Sharul Thakur, Mohammad Siraj and Shami to fly to australia
Furthermore, both Thakur and Siraj performed admirably in the just-finished ODI series in South Africa, and they cannot be completely ruled out of contention.
“They’ve done well, no doubt,” the source said, “but Shami is the favorite and should come in.” Deepak Chahar, who was supposed to travel with the team, is injured and unable to fly to Australia, thus Siraj and Thakur are traveling. On Tuesday evening, the three will depart for Australia.
Mohammad Shami, who is considerably more seasoned and would give the cutting edge, is more likely to replace Jasprit. We must also remember that Shardul continues to be the bowler with the most wickets in white-ball cricket since the 2019 World Cup. Shardul’s versatility would be discussed.
The official replacement will be made on Thursday, the 14th of this month.
