The Group stage of the SA 20 or South African T20 league has come to an end and we finally have our semifinalists for the inaugural season of the tournament.

Qualifying in first position is the Pretoria Capital captained by Wayne Parnell who managed to win 7 out of their 10 games and have 31 points to their name. Hence, they will be featuring in the first semifinal against Paarl Royals.

In second we have Joburg Super Kings. They had a bad patch of form in the tournament, but they managed to make a good comeback and now have sealed a spot for themselves in the semifinal of the tournament. They managed to win 6 out of their 10 games, while 1 match was washed out.

Out of the remaining four teams, three have the same number of points to their name. This states how close this tournament has been. However, only two of them teams could make it to the semi finals.

The first of the two is Sunrisers Eastern Cape. They too had a little rusty start, but once they found their momentum there was no way to hold them back. They are followed by Paarl Royals who had a mixbag of a season and despite the loss in their final game, they were able to make it to the semis because of a better Net Run Rate.

Durban Super Giants, and MI Cape Town, the two teams that saw the highs in the initial stage of the tournament failed to qualify for the knockout stages.
