Robert Lewandowski shines with a hattrick in Barcelona’s winning start to Champions League campaign

The Champions League is back and FC Barcelona have kicked off their campaign in sensational style as in their first game they defeated Viktoria Plzen by 5-1 and that match has sent a definitive statement that Barca are genuinely back and they’ll possibly be one of the favourites to win the competition.
In this game, there were expectations that Xavi would rotate his lineup and he absolutely nailed those changes cause in spite of putting the likes of Busquets, Araujo, Gavi and Raphinha on the bench, he still managed to come up with a strong lineup. As the players that replaced them were Fati, Alba, Christensen and Kessie, this clearly shows Barca’s depth.
Barcelaon’s emphatic victory
Barca started the game very well as within 15 minutes of the game, they scored their first goal courtesy of Franck Kessie. After that, although Plzen scored a consolation goal, it was indeed a Robert Lewandowski masterclass in yesterday’s match.
The Polish striker managed to pull off a hattrick in his very first UCL match for Barcelona and that clearly shows how talented he is cause some players take time to get used to the playing style of a team but Lewandowski is one of the best players in the world and he absolutely loves to play in the Champions League. It cannot be ruled out that he can potentially win a Ballon d’Or at Xavi’s team.
At halftime, Barca were already leading 3-1 and Lewandowski had scored 2 goals so all of the Barca supporters were hoping to see him finally get a hat trick cause since arriving at the club, he has already scored a brace in 2 matches out of the 5.
And at the 63rd-minute mark, the striker pulled off a sensational finish from outside the box to get his hattrick and it truly was a wonderful goal. And hence if he continues to perform like this and stays fit in the upcoming matches, it cannot be ruled out that Barca can manage to win a treble this season.
